Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
