“Our hearts go out to all UPSer who has been touched and everyone in our local community – assisting you and guaranteeing you get the support and aid you need is our main concern,” the company’s communication stated.

Investigation Findings

National authorities disclosed that the jet’s left wing burst into flames and an power plant fell off just after takeoff from the aviation hub, resulting in the plane to crash and explode into a blaze.

The National Transportation Safety Board announced it is probing the jet’s service record, which was in the state for repairs several weeks before the accident.

Flight tracking data indicated the plane was on the ground in San Antonio, Texas from the start of last month to last week.

“We are aware that this jet was located in the facility,” stated an investigator on later, without a exact time frame. “We will examine all elements of repairs that was performed, even the San Antonio visit, straight to the time of the flight.”

Findings of Vital Evidence

The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder were found, and the power plant was found on the runway.

The units – known as data containers – were built to survive accident forces and severe fire from blazes, and they appeared to be undamaged when discovered among the wreckage. Authorities intend to examining data from the black boxes.

The plane’s final recorded information displayed an altitude of 475 feet and a speed of 210 miles per hour ahead of the crash.

Repair Record

Per FAA records dated 18 September, a fracture on a component in the center wing fuel tank demanded repairs.

The company ST Engineering, which said it provides aircraft servicing for the carrier’s aircraft and operates a repair facility in that city, refused to speak, but stated it would assist completely when investigators approached it.

Operations Continue

Meanwhile, the hub operations restarted that evening with its Next Day Air or nighttime operation, spokesperson a representative stated. The three runways at the airport were also back in operation.

The distribution hub in the city is the company’s biggest. The facility employs more than a large number of individuals in the area, processes 300 aircraft per day and sorts over four hundred thousand parcels an hour.

Local Response

A memorial was organized on the late afternoon of 6 November by the regional Teamsters Union, which represents staff at the aviation hub, the organization’s primary shipping facility.

The union chapter, which represents UPS workers, commenced the vigil with a moment of silence at 5.14pm, the estimated moment of the accident before.

“This event was so sudden, so surprising,” the official told the assembly of 200. “No one had a moment to bid farewell to any of those who we have mourned.”
